The Standard Course is one of our more popular intensive courses we offer! This course consists of a challenging, yet flexible curriculum that takes into account students' diverse needs in teaching them how to practically use Japanese through exercises which connect the four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking.

By providing an intensive curriculum with a strong focus on accommodating our individual students, this wonderful program brings solid results within a short period of time. 

 

One particularly unique aspect of WAHAHA is that our Group Classes are kept small; between 2 to 4 students maximum. That means you will never be lost in the crowd and get the personal attention you need no matter which course you sign up for! 

 

►Group Lessons
• Lesson Length:

180 min./day (three 60 min. lessons, five times per week) × 2 weeks (Can be extended by weekly increments.)

• LESSON CONTENTS:

The aim of this course is to improve listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in a group environment. Studying with same-level peers allows for a variety of practice tasks that would otherwise be impractical in a one-on-one learning situation. Grammar and other fundamentals are studied from Monday through Thursday, with Friday being reserved for conversation classes.

For those who want to conduct business using Japanese, we have designed an integrated course which combines 10 classes specifically designed to simulate a real-life work environment with a course aimed at giving students the skills they need to be successful in Japanese business. The Business Course will prepare students for the business world.

• Lesson Length:

• Lesson Contents :
This course is designed by WAHAHA Japanese Language School specifically for individuals who require communication skills for the Japanese workplace and knowledge of Japanese business etiquette. In addition to reading, writing, listening, and speaking practice, classroom activities also include role-playing various business situations.

This course is aimed at students who intend to work in an international business environment with a Japanese company. Students will learn the appropriate honorific Japanese and other communication skills required for working with Japanese businesses.

The aim is to enable students to communicate properly in the workplace. During the ten practical lessons included in this course, students will participate in many role-play exercises to put what they have learned into practice.

本課程面向希望在未來從事翻譯行業的日語學生。

This course is aimed at Japanese language students who aspire to work in the translation industry in the future.

On top of an intensive curriculum focused on developing our students practical translation skills using a variety of materials. This course will also feature several guest lectures from professional translators who have significant experience working in the Translation Industry in Japan! 

 

This course is held three times per year; in Spring, Summer and Winter. Please enquire below for more information about availability!

This is a course aimed at Japanese language students whose goal it is to work in the translation industry in the future. This hands-on course is taught by experienced professional translators with a strong emphasis on teaching practical skills required in everyday translation. Students will benefit from strengthening their all round Japanese language ability and gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to succeed as a professional translator.

The Japanese Culture Course focuses on studying areas of traditional Japanese culture. including Tea Ceremony, Calligraphy, Pottery, Cooking and Flower Arrangement.

 

Culture Courses

Lesson Length:

Standard course (180 min/day of group lessons x 10 days) + 120min/day of Culture Lessons x 4 days

Level Requirement:Beginner to advanced

 

LESSON CONTENTS
Have you ever wanted to try shodou (calligraphy), wearing a kimono or sado (tea ceremony)? Have you ever wondered about the relationship between bushi and sadou? If you are interested in Japanese culture and history, this course is perfect for you. This course will teach you about unique Japanese culture while learning the language.The course will be conducted by qualified professional local teachers. 
Each Culture Lesson has a duration of 120 minutes. Four lessons will be held over a period of two weeks.

 

1. KARAOKE
   The class will do karaoke together. Do you know any Japanese songs? WAHAHA hopes students will try to sing Japanese songs, but English songs and songs in other languages are also available. It is very fun if everyone sings many songs!
    
2. TOUR TO THE ANCIENT CITY OF DAZAIFU
   Visit the historic Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. Enjoy your traditional experience with matcha tea and Japanese sweets.
    
3. ORIGAMI
   Students can learn how to make paper cranes or other traditional shapes for the season in this paper-folding class.
    
4. TASTING MACHA & WEARING KIMONO
   ​Students can experience wearing a long-sleeved kimono or a wedding style kimono. Take some photos for a wonderful keepsake of your time in Japan! Matcha tea and Japanese sweets will also be served.

This course is ideal for those who love Japanese Manga and who would like to learn more about it in detail.
We arrange special lectures led by manga artists in which students are instructed on how to use the right materials to create their very own unique and individual characters and storyline, allowing them to create their own personal Manga!
This is an original course at WAHAHA that other schools in Japan do not offer. So what are you waiting for?! Come experience the real thrill of creating your very own Manga with one of our reknowned Japanese Manga artists!

►New Year's Course
New Year's has always been a very special time of the year for the Japanese. They believe that the gods visit each family during this time bringing good fortune. There are a variety of traditions and customs that are followed in order to receive this good fortune. Our New Year's Course is more than just Japanese lessons. This special program gives participants the chance to enjoy Japanese New Year's culture and activities.

 

►Summer Course
During the summer season from June through August, we offer a special Summer Course package in both a 2-week and 4-week program. Both of these programs include two group events or activities per week in addition to five, three-hour Intensive Group Japanese classes. 

WAHAHA organizes many events at school and at other places around Fukuoka. These experienced-based classes have been a huge hit for all those students who take part in them, they are definitely recommended! These events are open for other students to take part in, as well, but will require an extra fee.
