Itinerary

Day 1: Taoyuan International Airport - Taipei

Your tour will start with a private transfer from Taoyuan International Airport to your hotel in Taipei. Depending on the time of arrival, you will have a tour through the capital of Taiwan, or you will have a free day/evening and you can explore Taipei yourself.

Overnight in Taipei in a 4* hotel, central located (Cosmos hotel or similar)
Day 2: Taipei - Yehliu Park, Jiufen and Pinxi

Your second day will start with breakfast at your hotel. After you've had breakfast, you will meet your English speaking (any other language on request) licensed guide/driver at the lobby of your hotel around 09.00 am. 

Around 10.15 am, you will arrive at the first stop; Yehliu Geopark (entrance ticket included). Visit the park and its incredible rocks formations such as the Queen's Head, the Candle Shaped Rock, the Ginger Rock, the Mushroom Rock and many others! 



After you have visited Yehliu Geopark, you will move on to Jiufen. The entire coastline here is a veritable sculpture garden that illustrates, in stone, the incomparable artistry of weathering and wave action. 

Arrival in Jiufen will be around 12.30 am where you will visit the Old Street where you can have lunch with some typical food in one of the stands (not included). Jiufen is a decommissioned gold mining mountain town, now a tourist destination thanks to its maze of alleyways with delicious food stands and beautiful scenery. 

After your visit to Jiufen and your lunch, transfer to Shifen (around 30 minutes drive) and visit the famous waterfall. The train station located down the river from the waterfall area, originally built for transporting coal, today stands as a reminder of Taiwan's history and culture. Shifen Waterfall is a curtain style waterfall. Due to its similarity with the Niagara Falls, it is reputed as the “Taiwan's Niagara Falls”. The voluminous water and mighty force forms mists on top of the waterfall. If the sun happens to shine upon it, there is the chance to see rainbows hanging over the waterfall; perfect for pictures!

You will next take the road back to Taipei with a stop on the way in Pingxi; a (quick) sky lantern experience!  



Your guide/driver will bring you back to your hotel in Taipei. The evening will be all yours; discover Taipei on your own accord!

Day 3: Taipei - Leofoo Village

The third day of your tour will start with breakfast at your hotel. After breakfast, you will meet your driver in the lobby of your hotel for a transfer to Leofoo Village. You will spend the entire day in this theme park. Activities can be scheduled. 

After you have enjoyed spending your day in Leofoo Village, you can walk to the Leofoo Resort where you can have dinner and where you will have your overnight.

Day 4: Leofoo Village - Miaoli - Taichung

Today will start with breakfast at your hotel. After breakfast, meeting with your guide/driver for a transfer to Miaoli area.

On the way, you will v
isit the Flying Cow Ranch (or similar) and - depending on the season -  activities can be scheduled at the Ranch.

Afterwards, it is time for lunch (not included). You will take the road to Shengxing Station to enjoy a ride with the Old Mountain Rail Bike
From Sheng-Hsing Train Station - the highest railway station on the western railway - through the Long-Teng Broken Bridge Historic Site you will arrive at the sparkling green water of the Liyutan Reservoir.

When the ride is finished, you will have a transfer 
to Taichung.

Day 5: Taichung - Cingjing

Your day will start with breakfast at your hotel and you will meet your guide/driver afterwards at the lobby of the hotel.
 

 

Today you will go to Hehuanshan. Crossing the Central Mountain Range on the Central Cross-Island highway and enjoy the wondrous high mountain scenery. Pass by the Bilu Sacred Tree and drive to the highest point of Taiwan's highway: Wuling, 3.275 meters above the sea level.

In the afternoon, you will have a transfer to Cingjing area. Once in Cingjing, you can visit the Qingjing Farm and the Swiss Garden. In the evening you will have free time to explore the area even more or to relax.

Day 6: Cingjing - Sun Moon Lake

Your sixth day of this tour will start with breakfast at your hotel and afterwards a meeting with your guide/driver for a transfer to Sun Moon LakeOn the way to Sun Moon Lake, a short stop in Puli, famous for its local wine and traditional paper industry and big temples.

After arrival in Sun Moon Lake, check in at your hotel. Afterwards, you will have time to explore the area of the lake and its majestic scenery.
There are several activities you can choose (OPTIONAL):


 Cycle round one of the best bike paths in the world: It is about 30 km with hills and will take 3-4 hours with stops at few of the attractions along the way. A local guide will follow you and show the paths.
 Cable car overlooking the lake: On a good day you can enjoy a stunning views of the lake with the trip taking about 7 minutes each way, however in peak times the wait can be hours.
 Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village;
 Boat tour (Shueishe, Ita Thao and Xuanguang Temple piers)
 Visit Ita Thao: is the origin of Thao people; it is believed that their ancestors, originally from Alishan, chased a white deer to a faraway lake where they found an abundance of fish. They returned to their homeland, brought the whole tribe, and decided to settle down at Sun Moon Lake, as we call it today. Although tribal life is almost extinct now, a visit to Ita Thao allows you to experience the aboriginal culture and you get to taste delicious aboriginal food too.
 Antique Assam Tea Farm: Shuili Snake Kiln is the town where remains the eldest tradition of kiln-making. There is a biggest kiln work which is in the Guinness Book of Records by the size of 6.68 meters.

Day 7: Sun Moon Lake - Taichung

Your penultimate day of this tour will start with breakfast at your hotel. In the morning, you will continue visiting the area of Sun Moon Lake with your guide/driver. You will have lunch in the area (not included). After lunch, you will have a transfer to Taichung. Your guide/driver will let you visit the 921 Earthquake Museum and in the afternoon/evening a visit to the National Taichung Theatre.

Day 8: Taichung - Taipei

The last day of your tour will start with breakfast at your hotel in Taichung. You will meet your guide/driver afterwards in the lobby of your hotel. Today will start with a visit to the Painted Animation Lane; a very short alley all painted by local artists following the theme of comics and cartoons. 

The stop afterwards, will be the Taichung Literature Museum: it was 
used to be police quarters, which were built in 1932 during the Japanese colonial period. It consists of six buildings, which are used for permanent exhibitions, themed exhibitions, children's literature, workshops and lectures, themed dining area, and administration.

Next is the Taichung second market, built in 1917 is divided in 6 sections each of the section was dedicated to a category. It’s hexagonal design make it very special (and easy to get lost!)

Time for lunch in this area (not included), don’t miss the specialities that the market has to offer, noodles, dumplings and buns! Your guide will help you!

Your tour in Taichung
 will continue to Miyahara,  a red-brick architecture built by Miyahara Takeo, a Japanese ophthalmology doctor in 1927. It was the largest ophthalmology clinic in Taichung during the Japanese colonial period.Today is an elegant place with several pastry business,  wonderful restorated the building is a place full of history and wonder.

Last but not least; a visit to the Rainbow Village: a“one man show” painted by a very talented, and rather visionary, old veteran soldier, MR. Huang.

Afterwards, your guide/driver will drop you off at the high speed train station in Taichung, where you will take the train back to Taipei.

About our guide and drivers:

Our guide/drivers are official licensed authorized guide. They drive carefully and they know the territory. Guide/Driver and car are available for 9 hours a day. 
Guide/Driver can decide to change the itinerary in case of emergency as well as you can also decide to change it or stop longer or skip one destination.


What to bring : Comfortable walking shoes, a hat, warm jackets, daily clothes, an umbrella and sunglasses

Payments with credit card are subject to a 2% charge;
A deposit of 30% will be required to book the service;
The guide will have the rights to change itinerary in case of weather issue or bad road conditions in Taroko Gorge.

Tipping is generally not expected in Taiwan; however it is always appreciated and shows your gratitude for a quality service.
